Alleppey turmeric, also called Alleppey Finger turmeric is a variety which comes from the Kerala region of India.
The Alleppey root is dark in color due to high concentrations of curcumin and possesses stronger flavor than the Madra variety.
Typical analysis Alleppey turmeric contains about 3% to 5.5% volatile oils, and 3.0% to 6% curcuminoids.
